Is zulu word a word for amazulu?
Zulu meaning? Zulu word is not used by Nguni people, there is no tribe called "Zulu", nobody calls himself a "Zulu", if you read a "Zulu dictionary" you wont find the word "Zulu". Zulu is only a surname for inkosi yamazulu (King of amazulu tribe). How did we become "Zuloes", nobody knows. In south africa there is a tribe called Amazulu, not "Zulu", a person of a zulu tribe is call Umzulu, not a zulu. A language that is spoken by Amazulu is called isiZulu. Nobody speaks "Zulu". The word zulu is isiqu segama (root of a particular word) , the word zulu can not stand by itself in a sentence, the only time it stands by itself it is when it is used a as surname.
